What to Expect with MLD Compression Garments
We recommend two layers of compression: a base garment and outer wrap. Together, these layers provide structure and consistent pressure to aid healing and comfort.
Base Layer Garments
Patients recovering from lower body liposuction will need a garment that fits like tight compression leggings. Key features include:
- Open crotch for bathroom use
- Zippers at the waist for easier application
- Full leg coverage extending to the toes
For upper extremity procedures, the recommended garment is a full-sleeved bolero-style top that offers full armpit coverage.
We suggest purchasing two garments so you can rotate them during the recovery period.

JUZO wraps are worn directly over your base garment. These wraps provide adjustable compression and are easier to apply than traditional bandaging. They’re reusable, machine-washable, and can be trimmed over time as your swelling decreases.
Wraps needed include:
- For legs: foot, calf, knee, and thigh (total of 8)
- For arms: hand and arm (total of 4)
JUZO wraps are typically worn daily for 4–6 weeks after surgery. Many patients find they stay in place better than ACE wraps and are more comfortable for daily wear and sleep.
