Dr. Alexander J. Kaminsky is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon dedicated to helping patients restore both function and confidence through thoughtful, personalized surgical care. With advanced training in reconstructive microsurgery, body contouring, breast reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery, and complex wound reconstruction, he combines technical expertise with a compassionate, patient-first approach.

His clinical interests include reconstructive surgery after cancer, body contouring following massive weight loss, skin cancer reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery, and treatment of complex soft tissue conditions. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presented his work at national meetings, and has been recognized for excellence in patient care and medical education.
Dr. Kaminsky has developed a special passion for treating women living with lipedema, lymphedema, and other disorders of the lymphatic system. He understands that these conditions affect far more than appearance—they can impact mobility, cause chronic pain and swelling, and significantly reduce quality of life. His goal is to provide compassionate, individualized care that helps patients regain function, improve comfort, and restore confidence.
As part of his comprehensive approach to lower extremity swelling, Dr. Kaminsky has a particular interest in venous disease and the treatment of incompetent perforator veins. He believes that successful management of lipedema and chronic leg swelling often requires addressing both the lymphatic and venous systems. By combining expertise in reconstructive plastic surgery with an understanding of venous and lymphatic disorders, he develops treatment plans that address the underlying causes of swelling rather than simply managing the symptoms.
