Welcome to our Virtual Consult for Lipedema Page

Modern technology allows us to perform consultations over the internet.  However, we would like you to prepare for your tele-visit in order to make your consultation effective and productive. Many of our patients are able to get coverage of Lipedema surgery through their insurance.  We will do the best we can to authorize the procedure, but we cannot guarantee that it will be covered or covered fully.  It all depends on your insurance plan. Unfortunately, Medicare does not recognize Liposuction as a medically necessary procedure and that is why we are unable to perform Lipedema Liposuction through Medicare. How to prepare for your Virtual consultation: Organize your thoughts
  • When did you notice Lipedema?
  • When did it get worse?
  • What makes your symptoms better?
  • What makes them worse
  • What have you tried to do to alleviate symptoms – diet, exercise, wraps, pumps, manual massage, garments etc.
  • Have you been seen by vein center
  • Have you been evaluated by bariatric surgeon (if needed)
Get photographs (see examples below) please wear underwear and bra.  Do not try to lift portions of clothing as the results are not good.  The same pictures will be sent to insurance companies, and they need to be more professional.  take photograph from about 3-5 feet away with good lighting
